Chicken Curry in Tomato Gravy







STEP 1: Cut 2 to 3 medium sized potatoes into cubes and sprinkle with salt. Fry them in a pan with little oil.






STEP 2: Fry till golden brown. Remove from heat and keep aside.



STEP 3: In a large bowl, take 5 to 6 pieces of chicken. Add salt and pepper to taste.





STEP 4: Add some ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste. Mix well.











STEP 5: Heat some oil in a pan. Fry the chicken on medium heat.

Keep stiring after every 5 minutes.








STEP 6: After around 5 to 7 minutes, the chicken pieces should look like this.











STEP 7: When half cooked, remove from heat. Keep aside.











STEP 8 : In a grinder, add around 8 small tomatoes coarsely chopped into pieces. Add 2 chopped red chillis.






STEP 9: Add a few curry leaves.













STEP 10: Add 2 teaspoons of cloves powder, cumin powder. Add some pepper.




STEP 11: Grind to a fine mixture. Keep aside.











STEP 12: In a sauce pan, heat some oil. Fry 1 onion chopped into small cubes.









STEP 13: Add some thyme and saute until the spices are slightly roasted.










STEP 14: Add the tomato mixture we grinded earlier. Mix well and saute for around 5 to 7 minutes.









STEP 15: Add the potatoes and chicken and mix well.










STEP 16: Pour in enough water to cover the potatoes and chicken. Add salt to taste. Cover and let it simmer on medium heat.








STEP 17: Let it cook until the potatoes and chicken are fully cooked.

Sprinkle with some chopped coriander leaves.


Serve hot with some rice or bread!
