Naan Khatai (Indian Cookie)

Naan Khatai


Ingredients:
  • Half Cup Butter (At Room Temperature)
  • Half Cup Sugar
  • Half Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • I Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Crushed Pistachios and Almonds (optional)

Method of Preparation

1. Preheat oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
2. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar well.
3. In another bowl, sift the flour and baking powder.
4. Add the flour gradually to the butter and sugar while mixing.
5. Add the cardamom powder and mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated
6. Knead it into a soft dough.
7. Let it rest for around 10 minutes.
8. Make small balls and slightly press them down.
9. Add some crushed pistachios or almonds in the center.
10. Place them on a greased baking tray leaving space for them to increase in size while baking.
11. Bake them in the oven for around 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
12. When out of the oven, they might be a little soft. So let them cool down for some minutes and they'll be crunchy to eat.
